Lady Rune

Sylvan ForestRune Tree

Birmingham, AL

Though raised in a Southern Baptist family, I left the Christian church in high school. I began reading tarot in college and studied various spiritual paths on my own for several years. After discovering Wicca in the early 90s, I dove into every book I could get my hands on and joined discussion groups on the Internet.

The Covenant of the Goddess website led me to Lady Arden. Beginning in the summer of 1995, I made the trek from Alabama to Atlanta to study, and dedicated with the newly formed Sylvan Forest grove on Ostara 1997. In 1998 I became a First Degree Initiate. I earned my Second Degree in 2001 and my Third in February of 2006.

Currently I serve as Webweaver for the Dogwood Local Council of the Covenant of the Goddess. My main magickal interests include the runes, tarot, and herbal magick. I’ve found that my long-time interest in natural healing complements my magickal studies and the two often become intertwined.

In “mundane” life, I graduated from college with a B.F.A. in Printmaking and Graphic Design from the University of Montevallo in 1987, and I have been an art director and designer for over 20 years. I’ve had jobs in both publishing and advertising during my career. Currently most of my time is spent developing projects in print, online, and interactive media for clients in Education and Natural Health. When I have creative energy left over from my “day job,” I also design and create jewelry and other decorative objects.
