The Grove of Phoenix Rising

Lord Myrddin was born in Tennessee. In his early years he enjoyed building projects and all sports. He excelled in football, winning a full scholarship to a major university. After graduating from college he went into the military during the Vietnam era, but served in Europe as a Reconnaissance pilot in the USAF. Afterward he pursued a short career as a math teacher in a private high school in Atlanta where he met Lady Magdalena in 1979. They were handfasted by Lady Galadriel and Lord Athanor in February 1980.

Returning to the Air Force as a pilot, where he achieved the rank of Captain, Myrddin was transferred first to Sumter, SC and then later to Austin TX. This is where Lady Magdelena founded the Grove of Phoenix Rising in October 1982. There Lord Myrddin began his Wiccan studies and received his first degree in December of 1983. Lord Myrddin was then stationed in Stuttgart from 1984 to 1987. There he and lady Magdalena established the German grove, Der Hain Dem Regenbogen Hexen. He achieved his second degree in February of 1985 and his third degree in April of 1987 being initiated by Lady Magdalena.

Upon being transferred back to Austin, he became High Priest of Phoenix Rising sharing the responsibility for teaching counseling and running grove activities. In 1990 he left the Air Force, and moved to Atlanta where he and Lady Magdalena continue to serve a new reincarnation of the Grove Phoenix Rising. The Grove of Phoenix Rising was reborn in Atlanta Georgia in 1993 and has been happily residing in the new covenstead ever since. Lord Myrddin flew as a pilot for a major airline for 13 years and now teaches flying in an international company.

Lord Myrddin’s special areas of interest and study are herbal healing, ancient architecture and civilizations, Celtic mythology, visiting megalithic stone circles and pagan power centers in Europe and the British Isles. He also plays and composes music on the flute and Celtic harp, enjoys bicycling, walks on the beach and woods, camping, and works on clay and wood creations with Lady Magdalena. He also makes a really unusual, spicy popcorn recipe and has been known to run out at all hours to buy frappacinos for their grand kids.
